Hello
Let me tell you a little about myself.
I taught Special Education for over 20 years. My focus was on providing academic interventions and behavior supports to students in the general education classroom in a Title I school. I worked with students with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism and other disabilities that impacted their learning. My interventions focused on basic reading skills, reading comprehension, writing, math, and even homework help for any student who was interested after school.
I’m big on open communication with parents and students, building safe relationships and creating opportunities for students to take risk, practice new skills, and build their self-efficacy and competency.
When I’m not teaching, you might find me hiking with my dog, reading a good book, working on my house and garden, baking or spending time with family and friends.
